I am a writer, mother and seeker, a trifecta that makes up the core of who I am and what I do. Writing and storytelling is the driving force behind my purpose, and is the way by which I hope to give back to the world in ways both big and small. To this end, I work as a writer in different capacities: In addition to my non-fiction writing, I am the Communications Manager at GoJava.ca, a sustainable office services company (that my hubby founded in 2015) as well as an expressive writing workshop coach.

One of the things I am most proud of is that I am co-founder of The 16 Percent, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people dealing with miscarriage and infertility by providing them a platform and a voice to tell the story of their experience. I became an advocate for the sharing of story surrounding miscarriage and fertility after I lost my second pregnancy at 20 weeks pregnant and found healing in writing and talking about my experience. Since launching The 16 Percent in September 2017 along with my two partners, Caroline Starr & Ariel Ng Bourbonnais, we have written and co-edited an anthology on the topic entitled Through, Not Around: Stories of Infertility and Pregnancy Loss, which will be published January 2019 by Dundurn Press.
